Birch

Characteristics

The Birch Tree originated and found in the north and northeast of Thailand. The bark is brown, gray or almost black. The bark consists of small, white, ventilated glands with round or oval together. The bark smells like camphor. When the bark is old, its layer peels off like a paper at the tender bud and petioles. The wood is light brown, yellowish-white, or rather white. The wood is quite fine, has a straight burr, medium hard with a beautiful pattern and able to plane and decorate easily.
